Sports Olympics II
On 23rd September 2020, the TIKI organisation, with its yoga instructors, was part of the “European Week of Sports” sporting event. This is the second year in a row that we have participated in this event.
It was our honour to open the European Sports Week this year with a yoga class led by Željka Zdravković. Physical activity is necessary to preserve physical and mental health, that’s the message we aimed to convey to our fellow citizens.
The yoga class was attended by members of yoga groups for children as well as adults. The focus of this class was the health of the spine and its deformities both in youth and in old age. The exercises and poses practised were adapted to all ages.
In this way, we wanted to draw attention to how ubiquitous yoga is and, through its many styles, adaptable to all ages and needs. The importance of yoga is recognised by successful athletes who apply it and recommend it as a supplement and practice for increasing sports performance.
We are also grateful to the Federation of Sports and the Olympic Committee of Serbia, who included yoga in the European Week of Sports program this year as well. The city of Bor supported the work of the TIKI organization this year as well.
